    Filmmaker, Kerry David, began her career at Paramount Pictures learning all about the contractual side of filmmaking. The following three years were exclusively working for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman on films that included; Mission Impossible 2, Without Limits, Portrait of a Lady, Peacemaker, Practical Magic, The Blue Room, and Eyes Wide Shut with legendary director Stanley Kubrick.     Jenna is a purpose-driven filmmaker who pursues telling meaningful and adventurous content. Her unique lens helps share stories in a compelling style to bring more understanding and new perspectives to complex issues. Whether it's working with small local businesses or global brands such as Beats By Dre, she cares deeply about the individual stories we each hold. Currently, Jenna works for JPL-NASA as their documentary filmmaker for Mars.

  • Marjorie Zychowski - Executive Producer


    Originally from Ohio, Maggie retired to North Carolina and was the genesis of Open Secret. After meeting Director, Kerry David and sharing what she knew about this ongoing tragedy, she introduced her to Professor and author, Clyde Edgerton and Reverend Dante Murphy.

  • Ben Schactman - Executive Producer

    Ben Schactman - Executive Producer


    Ben Schachtman is a journalist and editor with a focus on local government accountability. He began reporting for Port City Daily in the Wilmington area in 2016 and took over as managing editor there in 2018. Later he swapped mediums and is now the News Director at WHQR.

    He’s a graduate of Rutgers College and later received his MA from NYU and his PhD from SUNY-Stony Brook, both in English Literature.

    He and his wife met and were married in Wilmington; they returned to the area after nearly a decade in New York City.

  • Emer Kinsella - Composer

    Originally from Ireland, Emer Kinsella is a composer for film and media and a classically trained violinist based in Los Angeles, CA. Known for creating poignant soundscapes, Emer has been involved in critically-acclaimed films, television series and live performances. Having played violin since the age of two, her scores often combine introspective strings with electronic sounds. In 2021, she won Best Score for 'In Orbit' at the Venice Shorts Festival and the Bucharest Shortcut Cinefest festival and was the first recipient of the SESAC/New Music USA Reel Change grant award to create her score to the psychological feature thriller 'She The Creator'.   • Felipe Vargas - Editor

    Felipe is a multi talented editor, director and writer. While he is an editor on Open Secret, his personal projects are more genre related. Having worked with Kerry, editing her previous film; Breaking Their Silence: Women on the Frontline of the Poacher’s War, he was her first call for Open Secret. When his own projects demanded his attention, Jenna came in as a key component to continue Open Secret’s trajectory.

  • Chris Chism Location Sound

    Chris Chism - Location Sound

    Chris Chism is a folk and country music singer hailing from Richmond, Indiana. Raised on a steady diet of bluegrass and classic country music, Chris learned guitar and banjo in his teens, and soon discovered a love for songwriting. His early musical projects in high school were in the metal, and punk genres, but he eventually found his way back to his roots, playing the music he grew up with.

    After moving to North Carolina in search of a vibrant music scene, and a place to set down roots, Chris began playing more and more, honing his craft as a performer and songwriter. He now plays weekly shows, performing a mix of covers by artists such as Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt, as well as his own original songs. Click to continue

  • Lorrie Blaustein - Co-Producer

    Originally from California, Lorrie has spent much of her adult life on various movie sets with her former screenwriting and directing husband.

    Six years ago, Lorrie moved to North Carolina and feels it was one of the best decisions she has ever made. She was one of the key reasons, friend and filmmaker, Kerry David also uprooted from California. Lorrie was the second person to sign on to the film after cinematographer, Kyle Sullivan joined the production. She has performed many hats as part of the Open Secret crew and assisted with the film in possible way from scout to shoots. However, when settling on credits, she was very happy with Set Photographer and Co-Producer!

  • Greg Chen - Art Director

    Greg Chen is an Art Director / Designer / Animator / Motion GFX

    I work and collaborate with advertising agencies, post-production houses, motion studios, newspapers and TV networks on many projects. These companies include, Apple Inc, Beats Electronics, Brother Network, The New York Times, The Guardian, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Samsung Accelerator, SuperFad, Suspect, Brand New School, BET Network, Logo TV, iNK Stories.
