Emer Kinsella Bio

Originally from Ireland, Emer Kinsella is a composer for film and media and a classically trained violinist based in Los Angeles, CA. Known for creating poignant soundscapes, Emer has been involved in critically-acclaimed films, television series and live performances. Having played violin since the age of two, her scores often combine introspective strings with electronic sounds. In 2021, she won Best Score for 'In Orbit' at the Venice Shorts Festival and the Bucharest Shortcut Cinefest festival and was the first recipient of the SESAC/New Music USA Reel Change grant award to create her score to the psychological feature thriller 'She The Creator'.

Emer's credits include additional music for Amanda Jones on 'Dreamland - The Burning of Black Wall Street' (CNN) 'From Cradle To Stage' (Dave Grohl, Paramount Plus), American Horror Stories Anthology, working with Johnny Klimek on the hit Netflix series "Sense8" (written by The Wachowskis); the drama thriller "Jungle" starring Daniel Radcliffe; as well as with composer Andrew Kawczynski on Netflix's 'Go Karts' and 'The Eight Hundred'. Her recent feature credits include the RomCom 'I Hate New Years', the documentary 'Open Secret', the thriller She The Creator and the Sci-Fi feature film 'Saturn'.

In addition to scoring film and television, Emer creates experiential live concerts and performs live under her artist identity 'Emersion', and creates music for and performs with live dance productions.
